The Wesley Hughes Documentation Centre serves as the focal point of the Government Libraries Information Network (GLINJa) to provide information services and resources to planners, policymakers, decision makers and other users of government information.
Limited services are provided to external researchers by appointment, as well as via the Ask the Librarian link.
The Wesley Hughes Documentation Centre aims to identify, acquire, process and store for retrieval or dissemination of information, documents that are relevant to Jamaica’s development, particularly unpublished reports, existing at the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), other government departments and the private sector.
GLINJa is a network of Government Information Units. These units assist Jamaicans in giving access to planners and decision makers, socio-economic information in whatever form and wherever it exists, as needed for Jamaica’s development. In addition, the Network facilitates the free flow of information in Jamaica and the Caribbean through the use of International Standards, and contributes to the effectiveness of the National Information System.
